Certificate of Business (CBus)

The Certificate of Business program at International American University Los Angeles (IAULAX) is crafted to equip students for entry-level positions in the business sector. This certificate is perfect for individuals aspiring to start careers in business as well as seasoned professionals aiming to upgrade their skills. Additionally, the courses and credits earned in this program can be applied towards an IAULAX undergraduate degree, providing a seamless transition for further education.

Program Learning Objectives (PLO)

Primary objectives of this program include equipping students with the knowledge and ability to:

  1. Acquire a fundamental understanding of the business field.
  2. Develop and demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills.
  3. Show an emerging ability to integrate learning across various disciplines and experiences.
  4. Exhibit an evolving understanding of ethical reasoning, particularly in how Christian teachings, ethical principles, and core personal values influence business decision-making.

Mode of Instruction

Instruction can be completed through classroom-hybrid and/or online instructional methodologies.

Admission Requirements

Education: IAU requires either evidence of an earned high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) test, or the successful completion of 12 semester units earned at an appropriately accredited postsecondary institution or foreign equivalent. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

Professional Experience: IAU recommends 1 year of full-time professional experience, in any organization, including, but not limited to, private, public, for-profit, non-profit, start-ups, or established corporate organizations.

Information Technology: IAU requires students to possess computer and internet skills sufficient to effectively participate in IAU’s pedagogical model and conduct research at the undergraduate level.
